Norma “Fisher” Lindsay, age 67, beloved Wife to Tommy Evans, selfless Mother to Carlette, Dennis, Jason, Kevin, and Rohan, loving Grandmother to Troy, Jordanne, Chad, Brianna, Grant, Landon, Ayjahlee, and Denjah, encouraging Mother-in-law to Reynisha, Donald, and Pauline, sister to Douglas, Bull, Carlton, Tina and Yvette. There are countless friends and relatives, whose lives have been positively touched by Miss Norma.

Miss Norma started her career as an elementary school teacher, taking on the task of advocating for children who had difficult family backgrounds. She also assisted multiple families in caring for their infants and young children. With a heart of compassion and always caring for others, she dedicated herself to the endless care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Misericordia Home for over 25 years, retiring in 2015.

Throughout her life here on earth, Miss Norma created friendships and bonds that have withstood the test of time. Her testimony of faith and perpetual optimism positively influenced people of all ages, especially in their time of need.

On July 24, 2017, Miss Norma transitioned home to be with the Lord.  This is according to the promise of God in 2 Corinthians 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

We are eternally grateful for the gift of her life. Today, we celebrate that beautiful life, which is forever seared through love in our hearts.
